Breaking Ground

Breaking Ground: Breaking Ground’s mission is to seek and develop those who desire to become instruments of lasting change in their community. We work to fulfill this mission by creating educational and employment opportunities, which has included a training school and a construction initiative that fights the destructive effects of gentrification and allows neighborhood residents to become homeowners. Since 1998, Breaking Ground has seen over 2,400 students come through its doors and has created a wide variety of employment opportunities to develop its graduates.
