My name is Tylena Mitchell! I grew up in a city in the Southern part of Kansas doing a variety of things like DJ-ing at a skating rink, playing softball, and gymnastics. I grew up in a secular family without a context to understand who Jesus is and what he wants for my life.
I went to college at the University of Kansas and majored in Speech, Language Hearing and Communications Disorders with a minor in Psychology. During my freshman year, God led me to be involved with the Navigators through a spiritual interest survey! God radically changed my life my freshman year through a Fall Conference and a life on life relationship with Laura, an older staff woman. I’ve been following after Jesus ever since!
After graduating, I wanted to give back to and impact college students in the same way Laura had impacted my life. God put a desire in my heart to do urban ministry, to see students in Chicago come to know and love him! I also enjoy watching crime solving television, bulldog puppies, snap chat and Chinese food!
